The Blue Taco in Joliet

Just stopped in there today while trying out the farmer's market. Their food was great - we tried their chicken quesadillas, and the day's special: 3 traditional tacos (we picked 2 chicken, 1 veggie), side of rice or beans, and a drink. Their food is full of flavor, authentic, and is reasonably priced. Definitely would recommend it to anyone as a great place to eat good Mexican food.

I just stopped in & ordered the elote bowl. Rice, grilled corn, spicy chicken, lettuce, lime, & cheese... it's all good. 😋 The gal taking orders was very nice. The place is easy to miss from the street, but it's worth stopping in for a taco or a bowl. It is also close to the Amtrak station and The Joliet Slammers ⚾️

I've had multiple dishes here I haven't been disappointed with any of them. Will be back for sure

We stopped by 45 min before a show, the place was packed. Not only did we get a seat, we got our food fast and it was amazing! We had Carribean pork bowl, the cajun shrimp tacos and a quesadilla with beers and margaritas. Well done Blue Taco!

Great food

Was not worth the hype, I paid $9 for a bowl and only got 4 shrimp. I’m curious to see how many shrimp they put on a $3 taco. The rice was bland and just overall not satisfied

Great food. Gourmet tacos that have great flavor. Highly suggest the elotes and jerk chicken tacos on blue soft shells.

I love this place. The first time I was a little disappointed because they ran out of the blue shells but the flavors more than made up for it. I always have to try a couple different things. I think the Asian is my favorite so far but the sauce is sweet, so some might not like it. I also like the Cuban with pickled honey mustard. I like that you can pick the meat on most. The pork belly is always good. You can also get a bowl which is in a styrofoam container with rice instead of a shell and about the equivalent of 3 tacos. Everything is a good fusion of flavors. I wish that they were open longer that 11-2 (no weekends) but if you watch their Facebook page occasionally they are open late.

The combination of flavors is unique and so good! The service is outstanding! If anyone I know is going to be in the area, I always recommend it!

Oooooo. Yummmmmmmy! It's so good! I had the Caribbean jerk Tacos! I would have licked the plate if I was at home! Plus they serve Modelo beer! Love this place! I wish we had one in Arlington Heights!

Food was okay, kinda dry and not fresh. Clean vibrant interior. Great spot after a few drinks but not a sober place to eat.

Delicious ..innovative ... Amazing. Food is always great. Traditional are fantastic ...the fusion tacos are beyond amazing a mix of unexpected flavors that are a treat for anyone wanting something outside of the ordinary. Dont pass up an opportunity to try this place. The only downside are the hours, I'd eat here more often but unfortunately the short hours dont permit that.

At the moment you come to this restaurant the stuff gives you an excellent feeling. Very congenial stuff, it is a good place to pass time with buddies or with your date. Great meals, skillful chef de cuisine, reasonable pay and professional service. Warmly recommended.

If I could I would give not even one star, walked in the place no one to even greet us. Waited for a while and still no one. Another couple walked in and they were greeted and helped right away even though they left too. Waited another 5 minutes and still no service and as we were leaving another person walked in to pick up cans from the garbage and was even offered something to drink while us got up and left. Least to say will never come back 🤬

Pleasantly surprised by my first visit here. Clean restaurant, pleasant staff and good portion size for the price. Decent chorizo.

I had 3 different kind of tacos ! They were all the best tacos around ! Also had a Bbq burrito and it was delicious! Definitely hit them up again!

They're good by fast food standards, I guess. They do offer interesting choices, I should say...But, flavors often get muddled with "too much going on," and they should cut back on the salt. Last time I was there felt like I was eating a salt lick. The traditional tacos are decent but nothing to write home about. Wish there were better salsa choices. Customer service is good though, that's why I give a higher rating. Food isn't bad, but not great either. It's decent.

The food was just amazing! We ordered a steak, shrimp, and chicken taco, and also a potato quesadilla. Tacos were different but a delicious mixture of flavor, a must try. The quesadilla was extra tasty and a great option if you want to stay away from meat and still eat something delicious... Also staff is super friendly and food was served on time and hot!

Always, always good. Reminds me of Louisiana flavors and considering downtown prices, fairly priced.

This place is worth a try. They have big portions for convenient rates. Constantly well organized and with awesome mood. Would recommend to others.

Great food. Unusual tacos with lots of options. We were in Joliet for a concert. Would make the drive again just for the tacos and we live 65 miles away.

They didn't have the first three things that I ordered from the menu. The first was a salad that had strawberries in it but she said they were out of it because the fruit wasn't in season but I could literally see the strawberries in their fridge behind the counter lol then still no to the next couple of things I wanted and then I got an elote chicken taco which was great but the pork belly taco was not. I had heard such good things about this place but my experience was a little disappointing. I will give them a second chance another day maybe I just hit a bad day. It happens.

I visit this place a lot since I work nearby. I love how the service is always excellent and they keep the spot clean constantly. Prices are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.
